6/9/2020 Plant a Seed

There is a new display up at the Library.  “Plant a Seed, See What Grows” is the title of it.  The display has a variety of gardening books available to check out,  and we also planted a “seed” of kindness.  Stop in and see what has grown from that!  We are fully open our regular hours now, and are once again able to place reserves on books from other libraries.   This week email notices telling you that your items are due, and hold notices telling you something is in for you, should start being sent out as well.  Slowly service is returning to normal.

5/12/2020 Fund Raiser Update! Safer at Home is For the Birds

We are changing the name of our fundraiser. At our recent board meeting we decided to change the name to “Safer at Home is For the Birds” as we sat 6 feet apart from each other, with face masks on. The silent auction will now be held Tuesday, May 26th through Saturday, June 6th. We will plan for the worst and hope for the best, meaning we hope that by the end of the month libraries will be back open to the public (even if it’s under restrictions). If, however, we are not open to the public we still plan on doing the silent auction. How?

4/14/20 New "Heartfelt" Window

We have a new display in our front window. It was inspired by a group that was seen on Facebook called Heart Hunters. Their opening lines say this…”In this time of social distancing, we are all trying to spread a little love and compassion. This page was started by a mom in Galesburg, IL who saw a post about placing hearts in windows for kids to see while out walking. She thought it sounded wonderful and Heart Hunters was born.” So the library came up with a window made up of hearts that you can look for the next time you drive or walk through Kingston. Stay healthy!

4/7/2020 It’s For the Birds Fundraiser

Our “It’s For the Birds” silent auction fundraiser was scheduled for April 20th thru May 2nd.  Trying to be the eternal optimist we have put off postponing it, but….it will not happen at the end of the month.  However, it WILL happen eventually.  So for that reason we will continue to post pictures of items as they are donated.  Todays post is the adorable “Bathing Beauty”, from Janet Burdick.  Wouldn’t she look cute in your garden or on your front porch?  We also still have a few wooden birdhouses available if you’d like to try your hand at painting or decorating one.  Watch for mor
