3/22/2020 NEW HOURS until further notice

As of Monday, March 23, 2020 we will only be open Mondays and Thursdays from 1pm to 6pm. We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 virus and make changes as necessary. If you have been sick in the last 14 days or are feeling sick now, please DO NOT come in the library.  The 10 people or less rule remains in effect and will be strictly enforced. All people in the library are strongly urged to keep 6 feet of distance between themselves and anyone else using the library for the health and safety of all.

~This will mean doing the 6-foot dance at the checkout desk.~

3/18/2020 Reading App's Updates

Do you love the Overdrive or the Libby app for reading eBooks?  There have been some recent changes to Libby that will make sure you’re able to read the books you want to read, when you want to read them.  Instead of a title being automatically checked out to you when you may not be ready for it, you’ll now have a few choices.  You can of course, borrow the book and start reading.  You’ll have a 3-day pickup period to open the Libby app and check out your title.  Or, if you’re not ready to start reading, you can choose “Deliver Later” and select a set time period when you’d like the book de

3/16/2020 Due Date Information

Due to recent events all due dates have been pushed to April 6 for materials already checked out.  If you have a book out and the original due date was tomorrow, the new due date is April 6th.  This is being done for several reasons.  If you have materials checked out you won’t accrue fines if you don’t want to come to the library to drop them off.  Also, in a worst case scenario (the library would have to close) the due date will already be pushed out several weeks.  Stay healthy!

"For the Birds" Fundraiser!

We have a new display up at the library for our next fundraiser.  “It’s For the Birds” is the theme, and we are hoping folks will make, decorate, or donate something for our silent auction.  Bird feeders, bird houses, plant stakes, windchimes, garden decorations, benches, planters, etc.  Need an idea?  Check out a book form the new display.  There are books on making bird houses, and books on decorating them for garden art.  There are books on how to paint and draw birds, and books on scarecrows to keep them away.  Anything to do with birds will work.  Dave Pollesch, of Kingston, is making

2/11/20 .”Good for You” programs at the Library

Want to learn something new?  Check out the programs held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 10am.  This past week we had RN Melanie Simpkins come and give a program on Better Brain Health.  Our population is aging and as we get older the risk factors for dementia increase.  There are things you can watch for.  If you are talking with someone and can’t remember a word, that’s normal.  But if you are having a hard time carrying on a conversation, that could be a sign of something wrong.  If you misplace your keys occasionally, that’s normal.  But if you can’t remember how to d
