10/3/17 .Loosely Bound Book Club Hosts Author at Kingston Library

.Author Karl Stewart gave a presentation at the Kingston Library last Thursday. Afterwards Mr. Stewart was more than happy to autograph a book for Betty Kastenschmidt.

Author Karl Stewart spoke to the Loosely Bound Book Club last Thursday, and what a great speaker he was! He talked about his books along with the art of publishing. His first book titled "The Legend of See Bird", is a fictional story but the main character is based on his great grandfather. I think anyone in the audience would agree, he brought See Bird to life for us. See Bird gives some advice to live by to the other characters in the book, and one of his lines is still very fitting for this day and age. During a dangerous cattle drive he told one of the hands: "Red or white don't matter much. It's right or wrong that counts." Mr. Stewart also brought along the 2 pairs of "hair pants" that his Granddad made for him.  They were a birthday present when he turned 4 years old. One pair fit him at the time, and a 2nd pair was for him to grow in to. The pants are entirely handmade, from the sewing to the belt buckles.  Mr. Stewart said, "They are among my most prized possessions" and after "meeting" his great grandfather thru his talk it is easy to see why!  Next time you are visiting the library, check out one of his books, and meet Sea Bird for yourself.
