MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES
July 27, 2015
The meeting was called to order by Jean Winther at 6:10 p.m. Others present were Lenny Glover, Sara Wilson, Joy Waterbury and Kate Tyczinski. Jes Walker, Kathy Sletten, Chrissy Michels and Betty Kastenschmidt were absent. A motion was made by Joy and seconded by Kate to approve the minutes for June 29, 2015 and the treasurer’s report showing a balance of $15,939.39.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Summer Reading Program: a. Sara asked if some of the board members could help make sandwiches for the pool party on Thursday. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. this Wednesday to make up the sandwiches and snack bags for the kids. b. Sara wrote a letter to the Edna Pugh Trust Fund and they gave us $400 to cover the cost of the Bat Program. c. Sara advised that coolers are needed to transport the food and drinks for the pool party. d. Jean will be able to work at the library during the pool party. e. Sara advised that the attendance at the Summer Reading Program was very good. The least number of children was 22 and there were 45 children in attendance at the Bat Program. There were from 8 to 15 adults in attendance at each program.
BUILDING PLANS:
1. Shelving Re-arranging: The project has been on hold for the Summer Reading Program. The kids section will be moved first sometime in August. Sara will send an email to the board when they are in need of help.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Meeting Night and Time: A discussion was held about the change in the board meeting time. We have had fewer members in attendance since the time was changed. It was decided to go back to the original meeting time of the first Monday of the month. Because of Labor Day, our next meeting will be on August 31 and the following meeting will be October 5.
TOPICS FROM THE FLOOR
Kate stated that she has access to some old windows and screens for future fundraisers. Sara advised that she should bring them to the library and they can be stored in the basement until we need them.
Motion by Lenny and seconded by Kate to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 P.M.
