MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES
August 3, 2020
The board meeting was called to order by Kate Tyczinski at 6:10 p.m. Others present were Sara Wilson, Julie Barden, Lenny Glover, Kim Zills, Kes Thompson and Kathy Jerome. Betty Kastenschmidt and Lorrie Jansma were absent. Motion by Kes and seconded by Kim to approve the July 6, 2020 meeting minutes. Motion by Kes and seconded by Julie to approve the treasurer's report. Both motions passed.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Summer Reading Program: Sara advised that 32 children are participating in the program and the number stayed steady. This will be the last week of the program.
BUILDING PLANS:
1. Light in Back Entry: Sara advised that the light in the back entryway has been replaced.
NEW BUSINESS
1. New Display: Sara advised that the display table is promoting the start of school. A discussion was held about collecting school supplies again. A question came up if the school would accept the supplies because of the corona virus. It was decided we would collect the supplies anyway because if they can't be used now they will be needed in the future.
2. Green Lake County Budget: Sara advised the board about the article in the newspaper about the Green Lake County Budget. She advised that Scott Mundro will be attending the next County Board meeting and will be reporting on it. Sara is advising patrons to write to someone on the County Board to advocate for the library. Winnefox has a contract with the County Board that expires next year.
3. Next Meeting: Sara advised that our next meeting falls on Labor Day. It was decided to hold the September meeting on Tuesday, September 8th.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Kathy advised that the Village of Kingston will hold their annual Krazy Days parade and celebration on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and asked the library to consider putting a float in the parade.
A motion to adjourn was made by Kathy and was seconded by Kate at 6:22 p.m.
