Board Meeting

MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES
July 5, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Jean Winther at 6:09 p.m. Others present were Lenny Glover, Sara Wilson, Erin Witthun, Kate Tyczinski, Betty
Kastenschmidt, Kathy Sletten and Joy Waterbury. Jes Walker was absent. A motion was made by Joy and seconded by Kathy to approve the minutes
for June 6, 2016 and the treasurer’s report showing a balance of $17,902.02.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Thanks to Lenny & Erin: Thank you to Lenny and Erin for walking in the June Dairy Days Parade and for handing out the Summer Reading
Program brochures and book marks.
2. Car Show Flyers: Sara advised that the flyers were here and asked members to take some to put up.
3. Summer Reading Program: Sara advised that the Summer Reading Program is off to a good start. 15 attended the first week and 3 more came
this week. More are expected after this week. She also stated that we received donations of $150 from the bank and $250 from the Pugh Family
Foundation. They will cover the cost of the pool party. Sara also asked if someone could work on July 28th during the pool party. Jean will check her
calendar to see if she can work.
4. Photo exhibit: The photo exhibit is finished and Kathy had $177 for the library from the photo sales. She said that the cards sold better than the
pictures.
BUILDING PLANS
1. Chimney & Duct Cleaning: The cleaning is pending right now. Sara tried calling Golden Chimney and has not been able to get in touch with
them yet. She found the receipt for the fireplace and will contact the company about having the stove checked and cleaned.
2. New Shelving tabled: The new shelving has been tabled until after the Summer Reading Program.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Car Show: A discussion was held about what food to serve at the car show. It was decided to sell Sloppy Joes and Hot Dogs, water and soda, and
to have root beer floats and pie and ice cream. Sara will put out a signup sheet for food donations.
2. Kathy’s News: Kathy advised the board that she is moving and will be resigning from the board. August will be her last meeting.

There were not topics from the floor this month.
Motion by Kate and seconded by Betty to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 P.M.
