09/16/14 Mark Your Calanders!

Mark your calendars.  The Mill Pond Library in Kingston is holding a live auction.  The bidding starts at noon on Sunday, October 5th, at the Dalton Town Hall.  Proceeds from the auction will go towards a new copier, replacing a pressure tank, and library materials.  Food will be served starting at 10am that day, when the doors open.  Try a delicious cinnamon roll, or a piece of homemade pie while you check out all the items that will be auctioned off.  Wayne Yoder, from Wautoma, will be the auctioneer for the day.
In the past week we've had some fabulous Ferns donated by Priscilla LaBrenz.  A Wurlizter piano.  Two hand-painted milk cans, one from Rosanna Wendlandt and the other from Deb Cieliesz.  A tackle box with fishing supplies.  And a gift certificate from Sandys Diner in Markesan, just to name a few.  Have an item you would like to donate? Perhaps you received a gift that wasn't really something you could use?  Donate it to the auction.  What a great way to re-gift it!!  Items can be dropped off at the library during the hours we are open, Monday through Thursdays from 1-6pm, and also Wed. and Sat. mornings from 9-11am.  It's a great opportunity to clean out that closet or garage too.  Expect an entertaining afternoon and pick up a treasure or two, while also benefitting the library!!
Other library news....we have only five Common Threads books left.  If you've been thinking about getting one, don't delay.  At this time we are not planning on doing another reprint.  On Tuesday, Sept. 23rd stop in at the library to hear Andrea Opalewski talk about how to keep your kids out of the nurse's office this year.  Boost their immune system so they're not the next child sent home from school with the flu.  Andrea said, "I have a great passion for kids' health and helping families take control of their health."  Call or text 608-617-9484 to reserve your spot today
