3/16/2020 Bird Houses are here!

The next fundraiser will be a silent auction held the end of April.  The theme this year is “It’s for the Birds” and two wonderful craftsmen in the area have made birdhouses for us.  Both Bob Burdick, of Marquette, and Dave Pollesch, of Kingston, have brought in several wooden birdhouses that are available if someone would like to take one and paint or decorate it.   We’ll also be holding a Birdhouse Decorating Workshop on Wednesday, April 1st from 10am to noon.  You’re invited to come and decorate a birdhouse.  Birdhouses and materials will be provided, and your finished birdhouse will be auctioned off in our “It’s for the Birds” fundraiser.  Bring your inspiration and artistic abilities, and have a fun morning for a great cause.

3/14/2020 Library Statement on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Mill Pond Public Library Statement on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Libraries provide essential services for many people. Often, libraries are the only source of public computers/internet and meeting places for social services in our communities. However, we are fully aware of the risk factors involved with being a public space.

At this time, we are treating the Coronavirus with caution but not panic. We continue to regularly sanitize surfaces, we wash our hands frequently, and we encourage you to do the same. We are not planning on cancelling any of our events, but we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as necessary.

As in any other year, we do encourage you to stay home if you are feeling ill. We also recommend that people at higher risk for severe illness stay home. People at higher risk include those who are 60 years and older and have underlying health conditions, or those who are pregnant.

The Center of Disease Control reports that most known cases of Coronavirus are mild, and, "for the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low.
